Engineering Aksh Nozzle atomization is a type of atomization in which mist is created with a nozzle to produce fine particle droplets. After that, the mist and particle are dried in a spray drier using hot gas. A very effective method of drying materials is nozzle atomization, which works especially well for heat-sensitive materials. Nozzle SD powder can achieve larger particle sizes through agglomeration and has a higher BD.

Atomizers with nozzles work under intense pressure. After the feed is broken up into tiny droplets and immediately dried, the pressure energy is transformed into kinetic energy. Depending on the feed parameters and air pressure, the nozzle type dryers produce free-flowing, coarse or fine powder with particles ranging in size from 80 to 250 microns.

Multistage spray dryers work

A multistage spray dryer consists of two or more drying chambers, each with its own atomization[either nozzle or Rotary disc ] and hot gas generator. The feed material is pumped into the first drying chamber, where it is atomized into a fine mist. The hot gas then evaporates the water from the mist droplets, which fall to the bottom of the drying chamber as a dry powder. The powder is then collected and fed into the next drying chamber, where the process is repeated.
